vital records sources: Phebe's baptism appears in the New Canaan Congregational Church records. Her death is in the New Canaan town records. Her marriage appears on an added sheet of marriages on the flyleaf of one of the town record books, having occurred in Wilton when New Canaan was without a pastor. It also appears in the Wilton church records. I don't have a source for Phebe's death date. Daughter Rhoda's death notice appears in the NH Palladium of 12/17/62, p. 1003 and the Bridgeport Daily Standard, 12/19/62, p. 680, the latter says "In Darien, on the 9th, Miss Rhoda Hoyt, in the 76th year of her age; formerly of New Canaan."
