On the freeholder list of Braintree dated January 10, 1698 (NS). He was elected constable in 1710. In 1716, John received compensation for the use of his land for public access to town land.

The year isn't double-dated, but it's among a group of death records (taken from Rev. Samuel Niles's journal, p. 207, image 72) in January and February that are double-dated as 1717/18.
