Thomas probably came to New England with his father, but the first record of him there is on 8 October 1637, when he was to be given one of the Great Lots in Hingham. In later life, Thomas gradually sold his real estate holdings to his sons. He sold his house and homestead lot to son Nathaniel on 17 March 1689/90.1 This explains why he left no estate to probate.
