This means Mary was either advanced in pregnancy or recently had a child, as evidence that she became pregnant before marriage. The charge could have been made any time during the winter of 1655/6, since the previous court session was in November. Given nine months of pregnancy, she probably conceived some time in the first half of 1655 and was married perhaps in the Summer of 1655. The child referred to was probably Thomas.
