Thomas sailed to Boston on the ship Lyon from Bristol, England, in December of 1630, arriving on 5 February 1630/1. He came over as a servant of Roger Williams. Williams's entourage were in Seekonk, Plymouth Colony, during the winter of 1635, and settled in Providence by July of 1636. Thomas is on the 1655 freeman list for Providence. On 6 June 1681, his daughter-in-law Abigail Dexter wrote a letter from Providence (to?) complaining about taxation without representation.
