Elizabeth was born and baptized in Hingham, Province of Massachusetts Bay, but raised in nearby Abington. She moved with her parents to Cummington, Massachusetts, in the later 1770s. She married David Cunningham there and had nine children. The family moved to Richfield in Otsego County, New York, in the early to mid 1790s.
