Having died at 26 and without enough property to trigger probate activity, Ezra barely appears in the public record. He bought a piece of land on what is now Hale Street in Beverly on 2 April 1728.1 He mortgaged it on the same day to the man who sold it to him. The term was for two years, but it wasn't paid off, or at least not acknowledged as paid, until 23 October 1756.
There isn't any evidence Ezra had his own homestead. His father owned several homes, but Ezra's brother ---- lived in one and . The 1728 deeds calls him a potter. His father was a turner, but there was a "pot shop" listed in his inventory. All this inferred that Ezra lived and worked on his father's property.
