Ephraim wrote a will recorded in Fairfield County Probate Court, accompanied by an inventory.3:184 In a file for original papers, only his inventory has been saved. The following is his will as copied, then his inventory transcribed from the original since the recorded copy is incomplete.

Jenuary the 13th 1685 Ephraim Locwood being ill and weake aprehend that he shall not continue long in the land of the liveing being aged about forty three years of age - mi will and bequeath my boddy to the dust and my soul to my God yt gave it what litle estate God hath given to me and my wife I doe will and bequeath to my beloved wife when my debts be payd mi dwelling house and hom lott with barns, orchard, fences and al on them for four year and then half of it to returne to Daniel Lockwood my second sonn or soner if she doth marry alsoe my hether [hither] stoney hill lott lying between Robert Howard and Samuel Sention my brother five acors of it that I purchased of ye sayd Samuel Sention and my meddow in the Indian field lying in rear lots [by] the river I doe give and bequeath to my wife dureing the time of her widdowhood or natural life and then to returne the five acors and the sayd meddow to Ephraim Lockwood my sonn alsoe I give and bequeath to my wife my fether bed bolster pillows with all the furniture belonging to them, alsoe my great chest and one box to my wife one pott a midel kettell two pewter platters one qt pott two spones also one cowe and two sheep also half my meddow at the [barrs?] the time of her widdowhood my paster [pasture] to my wife I give lying [by] Jakins lott soe long as she reamins her naturall life and then to returned to Daniel Lockwood.

To John Lockwood my eldest sonn at twenty one years of age my will and bequeath to him my hom lot granted [by] the towne lying on the corner of a hill called Sayle hill my farther stony hill lott my boges at the wolf pitt I purchased of [Rescue?] my bog [by] the new dam my meddow at Sagatuke river and a lott granted to me from the towne to John to Daniel two acors of my stony hill lott half my land in Benedickes feild half my meddow at the barrs and my Pine Hill lott
to Ephraim the tother half of my land in Benedicks field with what to have of his brothers part to Eliphelet my sonn I give my Indian field upland that lyeth [by] Sagatuke river only his mother to have what is moeable [mowable rather than moveable] for a time of her naturall life then to returne to Eliphalet my sonn Joseph Lockwood my sonn I give my Indian field lott granted [by] the towne to Mr. Canfield and my litle lott granted [by] the towne to Mr. Canfield my part of the lott lyeing [by] Mr. Hanford and Platts my half part of Canfields Island I give to James Lockwood my som with a swamp on the other side of the river lying [by] Ralf Keelers bridge the reast of my esate to bring it to levell my wife one third therout and John [at?] double portions of my moveabls [? ten?] pounds and then every one a share proportionably with James his portion of his unkels estate willed to him Sara to have twenty poundes payd her at 18 years of age or at her marrag what estate on cattell this to be disposed and moveables my wife to bring up the children the sonns untill twenty one years of age --- she can find any of them out for trads and then to pay the soms their portions which I doe leave in her hands my wife to be executor and my sonn John Lockwood of this estate with his mother - my desire is yt Marke Sention and John Ffitch be over seers of this estate Ephraim Lockwoods last will & testament being in his right understanding
