Ruth spent most of her life in the South Precinct of Braintree and after it became the town of Randolph, Massachusetts. She, her husband Nathaniel Holbrook and several of their children moved to Providence, Rhode Island. It didn't suit them enough to stay, and one of them, a son Abel, died there, so they returned to Randolph.
Ruth inherited a share in her mother's dower. Elizabeth (Vinton) (Niles) Man was given part of her first husban's real estate. She died in 1817, and Nathaniel and Ruth sold it to their son Joel in 1819.1
