Mercy was probably born in Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay Colony, before her family moved to Middleborough, Massachusetts. She married and spent the rest of her life there. She is referred to as deceased when the heirs of her father drew up an agreement to divide his estate.1 Her three daughters were given her share, which amounted to £4, three shillings. Their uncle Abraham was to pay them within three years of William Barden's decease, with interest.
