In an account that may date to 22 July 1682, "Josia" Lane was one of a group of men who appear to have paid for land to be bought by John Tower from the town in exchange for wood from (Couper's) Island. Josiah paid £1. SR 15
His first wife Mary died 4 October 1671.1
