vital records sources: Thomas' birth and death dates are from Vital Records of Marlborough, Massachusetts, to the end of the year 1850 (Worcester:1908), 108, 369 (death date taken from his gravestone). His marriage intentions are in Vital Records of Wenham, Massachusetts, to the end of the year 1849 (Salem:1904), 132 (intentions first published on 3 April, certificate to allow marriage given on 26 April). A pre-nuptial agreement involving real estate between Thomas How, Sr., and Capt. Thomas Fiske of Wenham, the latter of whom was Rebecca's guardian, is recorded in Essex Co. deed 41:232, 23 March 1715.
